GEEPAR LABS - SMC LIMITED ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application Yekoling and related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use Yekoling. By accessing or using Yekoling, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data Controller

GEEPAR LABS - SMC LIMITED is the data controller responsible for processing the personal data collected through Yekoling and all associated services operated under the company.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to provide and optimize your Lingala learning experience:

A. Registered User Information

  • Account Setup: When you create an account, we collect your name (or display name), email address, and an encrypted version of your password.
  • Account Verification: We process your email address to perform initial account verification and manage account security.

B. Guest / Anonymous Mode Data

You can access Yekoling as a guest without creating an account. In Guest Mode, we do not collect personal identifiers (like your name or email). However, app progress data is saved strictly to your local device storage.

C. Local Device Storage

To ensure smooth offline functionality, Yekoling stores operational data locally on your device (including study streaks, lesson completions, quiz scores, and app preferences). This data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its local storage.

D. Crash Reporting & Diagnostics

We utilize third-party crash reporting tools (such as Sentry) to identify application crashes, measure stability, and fix software bugs. When a crash occurs, technical data is automatically collected (e.g., device model, OS version, crash time, and stack traces). Diagnostic logs are strictly used for technical troubleshooting.

E. Feedback & Survey Data

If you submit feedback, feature requests, or bug reports via user surveys or forms (such as Google Forms), we may collect your email address and any information or text you voluntarily provide.

F. Audio & Microphone Access

We do not request, access, or record audio from your device's microphone.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Service Provision: Creating and maintaining user accounts, verifying identity, and synchronizing progress for registered accounts.
  • Offline Performance: Persisting learning streaks and progress locally on your device.
  • Diagnostics & System Security: Identifying bugs, resolving crashes, and protecting the platform against abuse.
  • Communication: Sending essential transactional emails (e.g., account verification, password resets, or critical administrative updates).

4. Legal Bases for Processing

  • Contractual Necessity: Delivering app services under our Terms of Service.
  • Legitimate Interests: Monitoring system stability, resolving crashes, and preventing platform abuse.
  • Consent: When you voluntarily register an account or fill out feedback forms.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

GEEPAR LABS - SMC LIMITED does not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information.

We only share data with service providers essential to app functionality and diagnostic maintenance:

  • Local Data: Stored directly on your device until you reset app data or uninstall Yekoling.

  • Account Deletion: You can request permanent account deletion via in-app settings or by emailing yekoling@geeparlabs.com. Personal data will be erased within 30 days.

7. Minors & Children's Privacy

Yekoling is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has registered an account without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete the account and associated personal data.

8. Your Rights

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted within the app or on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
